We are aware of this problem.  I'm not sure what our resolution to it is going 
to be at the moment, but it is being thought about nonetheless.

PHP support is somewhat unmaintained (at least, I don't know who the 
maintainer is).  If you're not up to fixing these yourself you probably want 
to file bug reports so we can keep track of the status of these problems.
