Exceptions handling

Hi,
I want to enable exceptions handling in a KDE project. By default, the 
compiler option generated is '-f-no-exceptions'. An idea is to replace in all 
the magic files of automake and autoconf the entries '-fno-exceptions' by 
'-fexceptions'.
Is there another way to do this?
