well... you're sitting on a platform that lacks abilities we need for 
KDevelop. KDevelop compiles, but there are known bugs. AFAIK debugging should 
work with qEditor, it definitely doesn't in kate. You say you have no time to 
hack around KDevelop to make it work properly on KDE 3.0 - well, neither have 
we.

Installing KDE 3.1 for any SuSE version is a piece of cake, download the RPMs 
from the SuSE ftp server and there you go, no need to upgrade the whole 
distribution.
