Yes, this is one thing that has completely changed now and is therefore
currently commented out in KDEVELOP_2_BRANCH. 

A week ago I posted my roadmap for KDEVELOP_2_BRANCH to the list. Today
Robe has started working on the branch too. If we coordinate our
efforts the version should become stable in a very short time.

Removing multiple files? Removing directories? Man that would be even
better.

None yet, this is very high on my ToDo list. The current docViewMan
needs to be phased out, it will be replaced with Kate's and it will
become a pure "viewManager" and be moved into it's own directory. If
you want to start on this please feel free.

Yes, that is the idea, use Kate as the native editor in KDevelop and
allow Kate or KDevelop to load plugins for Kate as well as plugins that
were originally written for gideon.
