Request for help to debug/fix kate part ;)

I'd be glad to help you with the initial testing. 

If only I could get KDE3 compiled... it takes literally forever on my
PII300. If someone can donate some kdelibs (in tar.bz2) form for me to
download, that'd be quite helpful. 

Anyway, I will try to get into asap.
