Package: kdevelop
Version: 2.0.2 (using KDE 2.2.2 -1)
Severity: normal
Installed from: Red Hat Linux 7.2
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-98)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.7-10
OS/Compiler notes:

The automatic preview option in the File>>Open dialog of KDevelop seems to cause it to crash sometimes. To recreate:
1) get the glpixmap Qt sample
2) start Kdevelop
3) Do File>>Open and navigate to the files in the glpixmap sample.
4) Making sure the "Automatic Preview" is enabled, select any of the .cpp files. In a moment the preview window will show a preview of the file.
5) click "OK" and KDevelop crashes.

Ways to avoid the problem:
A) disable automatic preview.
B) double-click on the cpp file so fast that automatic preview never has a chance to happen.

Possibly other useful tidbits of info ore red herrings:
*) Linux is runnign on a 1.7GHz Pentium 4 machine
*) the KDE desktop is being displayed on a Win2k box running 6.1 01/04/19 (also a 1.7GHz Pentium 4)
*) WinaXe is set up to use Multiple Window mode list (i.e. Both MS and X windows are peers on the MS desktop).
