Bug#34371: The first tutorial program fails to compile

OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.4-4GB
OS/Compiler notes: 

On following the tutorial, the very first qt program fails to compile producing the error:
No matching function for call to 'QPushbutton::QPushbutton(const char[13])'
As far as I am concerned I followed all instructions religiously. What's going on?
