Has anybody any idea whether: 

CKDevelop::saveProperties(...)
CKDevelop::saveProperties(...) 

are still used or called for anything?

I have commented them out in my local version since I could not find
any references to them, so I would think they are dead, right? 

If they are dead I would like to plow them under.
