To compile KDevelop from CVS:

export CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous at anoncvs.kde.org:/home/kde
cvs login
cvs co kde-common
cvs co -rKDEVELOP_1_4 kdevelop
cd kdevelop
ln -s ../kde-common/admin

1) If y have KDE2.1 (stable) distribution:
export CXXFLAGS="-DUSE_QTPRINT_SYSTEM -DUSE_KDE_2_1_1"

2) if y have KDE from CVS:
no special CXXFLAGS to set.

and finally 
./configure && make && make install
