Package: kdevelop
Version: 2.0 (using KDE 2.2.0 beta1)
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.4 20010319 (Debian prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.6-pre8
OS/Compiler notes:

This appears to be similar to bug 22220 reported against konsole.

The gap between characters when echoing input, and the indent where input is echoed seems to suggest a very large character width - regardless of the fact that a small font is selected.

The reason I've reported this as a separate bug, is that this problem is only supposed to occur with proportional fonts. Kdevelop uses proportional fonts and there doesn't appear to be anyway to change that.
