Err. First it looks like I made a small interface mistake.

There should be another option called TabIndent for the editor. That should 
turn indentation by pressing Tab key feature on/off. This should work 
independently from AutoIndent.

You can turn that on/off in emacs (probably so, I haven't changed my 
indentation settings for ages ;)

I'll see if I can add that option. I'd already put it in TODO list. (Hey, not 
too bad for a dead branch)

For people who wonder why I'm adding features to a dead branch, I was just 
editing a small noatun plugin I was writing and I noticed that there wasn't 
proper indentation in kdevelop so I went ahead and added some.

Any worthwhile changes will be ported to kate, don't worry.
