error while build->configure

Hi I'm a newbie
I trying for the first time kdevelop and get this error message when I select 
the menu build->configure.

checking for KDE... configure: error: 
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

I think this is an installation problem, but I've no idea.

Can somebody give me a hint.
