Package: kdevelop
Version: 1.4.1 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian Package 4:2.1.1-0.potato1 (2.2)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian GNU/Linux)
OS: Linux 2.4.3-pre3 i686
OS/Compiler notes:
Hi guys - sorry if this is a little vague but I just spent two days trying to fix it and still don't get it ... now very confused ;(.
First, I am building a Qt app that includes libapt-pkg - if I make a tar.gz distribution it fails to link with -lapt-pkg, even if I manually put it in Makefile.am ... huh?
Second, generic Makefile doesn't run moc ...
Third, generic Makefile overwrites (subdir)/Makefile on each make ...
Fourth, ( this one is really wierd) after manually fixing everything and getting a build with no errors, executable is about 30% SMALLER than a build from within kdevelop - and it Segfaults immediately (looking for QFont I believe). However, a build from within the IDE is fine and runs perfect. Seems that the generic linking has some different options going ??
Very confusing - don't know what to say; I love kdevelop and I'll keep using it but I thought you should know that the tar.gz distribution isn't really working.
If you want to see my sources they called "qaptivate" and are at www.linuxmechanix.com under "Free Software". (only app there right now)
Thanks so much!
Erik Winn
