Package: kdevelop
Version: 1.2
Severity: critical

Bugreport ID : 17:45,05.09.00

Originator	: John Summerfield
E-Mail : summer at os2.ami.com.au

Subject :

Error Class	: software bug
Error Location	: I don´t know
Priority	: medium
Bug Description ---------------------------

I have an existing project (it's a text app; qt and kde libraries are not involved.
The build that takes place following changing options (project/options) fails.

It gets an error during the ./configure processing; it can't run the compiler. The precise error varies, it couldn't find cpp. I have a newer version of gcc than I wans running, so I upgraded, and now itcan't find cc1.

Running ./configure manually works fine; I've done so (and clobbeed the log showing the error).

If this dialogue wan't modal, I'd be able to rerun it (and also check that the instructions I'm about to give are precisely correct;-)

How to repeat the error -------------------

Project/options (or is it settings?)
Change somehting; maybe the compiler optimisation choice.
Click OK.

The build fails, at the step where it's checing that the compiler works with the options chosen.

It may be relevant that I'm trying to build for i386 (-bi386x rather than for the machine it's running on; I've tried on k6-II and PII).
