If your system doesn't have it, there is a replacement in
kdelibs/kdecore/fakes.cpp. But I thought this was automatically
included via autoconf?!

Well, see if konsole itself works. If not, konsole_grantpty is at fault.
If konsole works, it must be elsewhere...
