Package: kdevelop
Version: 1.0beta2
Severity: grave
Bugreport ID : 09:33,27.08.99

E-Mail : m.stoutjesdijk at rdiag.azn.nl
Subject : overwriting existing files
Error Class : software bug
Error Location: I don´t know
Priority : medium
Bug Description ---------------------------
When adding existing files _from_the_project_directory_ KDevelop
asks whether it should overwrite the existing files. If you say
'yes', it FIRST opens the file for writing (erasing all contents)
and THEN tries to open it for reading. This sort of in-place
"activity" does not occur often, but Kdevelop should be able
to handle it properly.
PS Please respond by email for confirmation of receipt?
How to repeat the error -------------------
Set the source and destination directory to be equal when
importing existing files. Import a file, and you will see that the
contents are now erased.
Bugfix or Workaround ----------------------
First read the file, then ask to overwrite, then do it if the answer is 'yes'.
