Kmail crashes when typing a recipient email

I don't see how my error could be unrelated to wayland, since I can reproduce 
it at will - forcing kmail through xwayland with QT_QPA_PLATFORM="xcb" works 
fine, but running it natively through wayland triggers the error.

I'll happily help debug this, but I have no idea how to continue. I'm not used 
to QT dev and kdepim is huge :D
If a dev has a hunch which function might be the cause, I can add breakpoints 
there and try to narrow it down. Otherwise, I'm afraid a dev trying this in 
wayland outside of plasma would be the easiest.
