Axel, 

Thank you for that.  It did used to work for me some months ago.  However, at some point, I managed to break it.  I expect I will do a fresh install sooner or later, which seems like it may solve the problem.  In the meantime, it's a bit frustrating not being able to troubleshoot the cause.

Seemingly, if I enter an event into Google Calendar, it will appear in KOrganizer, but not the other way round.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Just tried, and for me it is working: New event in Kontact syncs with google calendar
