Kmail - greyed out emails

In the Collection window, the Folder with the greyed out emails it does say 15 in the unread column (which is correct) and 801 in the Total column but no emails are in the subject window.
For the rest of the folders in the Collection window:- 
all the folders have a number in the Total column but with some folders, there are no emails in the Subject window and in other folders there are a few emails but not as many as it says in the Total column.

5 items set to True but  "datetime" 2020/21 with "atime" 2020/21/22
