copying part of folder

Thanks but that doesn't work anymore on my system.  I must have turned 
something off.  Even when I click on just one email the copy light doesn't come on.

Kmail 5.2.3
     *  KDE Frameworks 5.28.0
     *  Qt 5.7.1 (built against 5.7.1)
     *  The /xcb/ windowing system
All this on a Lenovo T430.
