anti-spam wizard missing in kmail 5.9.3

I still have the problem of not being able to access certain (a few) emails in my
spam (probable) folder. Can mark them as read in the Folder utility, but can't delete,
open, or move them. Whenever I try, machine freezes and on shutdown does the
minute and a half shutdown of a running program.

I think this is related to buster or kmail 5.9.3 as I didn't have this problem on the
version of kmail2 that was in the stretch repository.

Anyone have a clue what I might try? Right now I just mark the message as read
(Mark all messages in folder as read) and ignore the email. So far I have been able
to live with this problem.
