Because, if it wasn't for Laurent, then KMail would be unmaintained since a
long time. So far no fork survived for very long because people hugely
underestimate and therefore don't appreciate the amount of work maintaining
KMail is.
Also, Laurent has been called to order by reminding him of KDE's code of
conduct.
Finally, Laurent has reconsidered the removal and has added the menu entry to
the "Expert Plugin". In my opinion, as KMail power-user and former KMail
maintainer, I think that's a good solution.

As if the removal of the menu entry would have anything to do with Akonadi.
