KMail 4.14 will not work with KF5-based Akonadi.

The protocol is incompatible. For KF5-based Akonadi Dan implemented a much 
faster binary protocol.

Akonadi 4 + 5 are also not co-installable. Either use KDEPIM 4.14 with Akonadi 
4 or KDEPIM 5 with Akonadi 5.
