I have a need to stop akonadi all the time when I change display because
akonadi doesn't handle more than one (or at least I don't trust it).
Same for synchronising calendar .ics files between computers. I wrote a
script to kick it into the can:

What information is actually stored in the mysql database? ANything
important? Basically, I don't give a toss about KDE, my email is stored
in mboxes or maildirs and my calendars in ics files. If KDE needs to
reindex that I don't see a problem.
