seems so, unfortunately, yes.
as for your other post (want to stay with kdepim-2), I agree mostly.
baloo really seems to be a big step forward from nepomuk, which was always 
somehow in the way.
however, I think this whole akonadi framework (incl. baloo, nepomuk...) is 
just too complicated and hard to maintain, plus, nearly impossible to 
understand/debug/troubleshoot for normal users.
a situation which reminds very much to windoze, where a view behind the scenes 
by users is prevented by intention.
here, I don't see the intention, of course :) - rather the overly complicated 
interaction between so many processes plus the lack of documentation thereof.
I think there is really a need for simple, straightforward programs for many 
users.
and, there are lately activities going in this direction, like 
http://lxqt.org/ or http://trojita.flaska.net/ - which is btw. a superfast 
email client, very nice.
still lacks important features, e.g. multiple accounts/identities, 
signing/encryption etc., however.
