[kdepim-users] How do I filter on sender = Unknown or date = Unknown?

I guess your right. I had not tried the date filter, looks like it may
have a problem. When I first tried it it showed an option for No Date
but that option disappeared when I ran it. Now it does not coming back
until after restarting Kmail. The no date selection does not appear in
the box.
