Honestly right now I feel like giving up on KMail and Akonadi *forever*. ;(

No offence meant. I just wonder whether the trouble is worth it.

I sure can try from a clean setup again. But will it fix this issue for good –
i.e. *once* and *for all*?

The test setup used the exact same filter setup.

Thus is it the fact that my production setup uses more than just one POP3
account?

Is it just that I migrated at a time where something was still botched and
that "botched" is still in my Akonadi database?

Well I hope that one day I can safely move Akonadi setups around, then I could
setup a test setup in a new user, let it run in parallel with a second copy of
my main two POP3 accounts and risk data loss just on my freemail accounts. And
if it proved that it worked for more than 2 month or so, just swap the setups.
