[kdepim-users] Kmail 4.10.2: Confirmation of fetches of email from POP3 server

With Kmail1 there was always a notification of the result of doing
'Check Mail' from a POP3 server (something like "'n' emails
downloaded").

With Kmail 4.10.2, although there is a most useful confirmation of
'Email successfully sent' via SMTP, accessing a POP3 server often
shows - in the bottom right-hand corner - an upward-pointing blue
arrow and a blue progress bar - though no "messages" detail.
However, if one clicks the blue arrow, the information display
changes to give detailed information (including folder operations,
which I would rather were omitted).

Three questions:

  (1) Is there an option somewhere that can set the more detailed
version of display as the default? Better still:

  (2) Is there an option to choose the display only of:
        "'n' messages downloaded"?

  (3) Why - when the POP3 server is the Gmail server - does no 'blue
arrow' display (or any other) appear?
