What do you mean by (re)creating? the address book?

I've deleted the KDE4 Personal Contacts and replace it by a new folder with a 
plug-in to a KDE3 VCards dir.

The completion still doesn't work, but the pics of my friend who send me mail 
appear in the email headers.

What's next?
