I am testing distros to choose my next install, using VirtualBox. I
have OpenSUSE 12.1 and Mageia 2 beta installed, and my first call was
to see how Kontact is doing.

First, let me say that setting up my Googlemail IMAP account was
flawless in both distros - very pleasing. The Google Calendar
experience was, sadly, not successful.

OpenSUSE 12.1 - using Kontact 4.7.2. I added a calendar in
KOrganizer, following the instructions on
http://userbase.kde.org/Working_with_Google_Calendar Nothing happened
- - that is, the calendar was listed in the left panel, but nothing in
the main panel. In SystemSettings > Personal Information > KDE
Resources I saw that a resource had been added, but no configuration
details were there. I added them again and back in KOrganizer a
calendar appeared - but empty of content.

Mageia 2 beta - using Kontact 4.8.0. I added the calendar in
KOrganizer as before, and again had to go to KDE Resources to set up
the resource file. The account was found and listed in the lower
pane. However, after checking and re-checking nothing appeared in
KOrganizer. I left it for the night. Today I find that two calendars
have appeared, both set up for Google calendar, but again, no content.

Is there something I have missed in configuration or is this part
still broken?

Anne
