[kdepim-users] kmail stopped working totally

not working. It doesn't check mail. And if I try to edit my mail
receive configuration (for gmail imap), nothing happens. No dialog
opens.
Well I think I replaced every config file that could possibly be
replaced.
I recall something similar myself when I still used kmail2. The details
are fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure my imap connections halted if the
network went a bit flaky. It was as if the mail resource was tagged
off-line and nothing other than a restart would bring it on-line again.
I think it would be worth while to firmly establish what the following
actions do individually when your problem occurs (if you haven't already
reported this info):
1. Right-click the mail account in akonadi-console and restart the agent
(this does not appear to be something you can do in kmail2 settings
itself)
2. restart kmail
3. restart akonadi
