For future reference, try opening the Information panel.  You should see
information about files there, on the right hand side of the screen.

I'm confused, since there is more than one system being discussed in
this thread.  You seem to be using Gmane to post - and I've no idea
where Gmane would look for contacts.  KMail would definitely be looking
at ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc or at ~/.local/share/contacts if you have
migrated successfully.  Other than that, Recent Addresses are, IIRC, in
kmailrc.

That looks very odd.  *Something* is wrong, whether it is Krusader or
your file system generally.  You really are going to have to talk to
the *buntu lists.  Sorry.
