Is the problem intermittent? Or do you always notice a notable delay. So
far I haven't experienced delays when sending mail. As I'm also using
gpg-agent (and Markus doesn't seem to use it) the problem is probably
not related to signing mails.
Are you and Markus probably using KWallet for the SMTP password?
