[kdepim-users] Odd sending failure

I've just installed Mandriva Spring, and find that I can't send messages from 
KMail.  The error I get is

An error occurred during authentication: SASL(-4): no mechanism availab le: No 
worthy mechs found

My local imap server does not use SASL, and there is nothing in the KMail 
setup that should be causing this - the config files are all pasted from my old 
working setup.

Any ideas as to what might be causing this?
