I suppose you have set your OpenPGP key as signing key for your

How is gpg-agent started? Is gpg-agent running in the same session as
KMail/Kontact, so that KMail/Kontact can see the GPG_AGENT_INFO
environment variable?
What happens if you manually enable signing in the composer?
