[kdepim-users] Opening (as opposed to previewing mail)

KMail
Version 1.12.2
Using KDE 4.3.2

IMAP

Sometimes kmail doesn't handle inline attached graphics and such in the
"preview pane" on an IMAP account. In such cases, I have gotten used to
double clicking the mail in the list, or hitting enter, in order to "open" the
item in a new window. When the mail is opened the accompanying elements are
downloaded and displayed as intended.

Using the above version, kmail seems to resist opening the message.
clicking/double clicking seems to be ignored. Same with <enter>. After 4 or
5 tries (sometimes more, sometimes never) it finally opens. Is this a known
problem?

Is there a "new" way to do this?
