[kdepim-users] Kontakt fails to start - 100% CPU usage

You can check if your ~/.xsession-errors contains any hint what it does.
If not, you can install the debug packages, run kontact and while it's 100%
run gdb in a konsole and attach to the running program. Then look at the backtrace.
If you have no idea about programming, then post the backtrace in bugs.kde.org

Steps:
kontact
in a konsole: ps -ef|grep kontact -> note the PID
gdb kontact <PID>
bt
