Hi Michael,

let's move this discussion to the kdepim-users mailing list since that's 
the list that is intended for general discussion on usage of the KDE 
Personal Information Management applications, i.e. Kontact, 
KAddressBook, KMail, KOrganizer, etc. (The kde-pim at kde.org list is 
intended for discussing the development of KDE PIM applications, i.e. 
Kontact, KMail, KOrganizer, KAddressbook, KAlarm, etc.)

Do you use normal IMAP or disconnected IMAP? Since you talk about 
synchronizing I assume you are using the latter.

What do you mean by "untick"? Do you use Subscription or do you use 
Local Subscription? There might be a problem with (un)subscription of 
top-level folders. At least, I remember fixing a corresponding bug in 
KDE 3.5. Maybe it has not been applied to KDE 4.1.
