I thought I had shut it off completely when I moved all of my accounts to 
Gmail IMAP.  I had one filter active for an account that I did not have set 
up for retrieval.  Now I have disabled the application of that filter to 
incoming mail as well.

Manual check, usually through selecting an IMAP folder only.  Before your 
message, I had one very low volume account set to check every 3 minutes, but 
now that is disabled.

Most mail comes from gmail which is not set for interval checking.  I had 
another regular (not disconnected) IMAP account set for interval checking 
which I shut off.

Kmail crashed while composing this reply nonetheless.

Please try to help.  I hate webmail and thunderbird.
