What about creating a filter based on a header content, such as
Anywhere in Headers Contains References:
<200810172341.01704.Dexter.Filmore at gmx.de>
As long as the thread doesn't get broken that should give you the whole
thread. Set it to stop processsing when it finds a match. That shouldn't
slow you down at all.
