ok, so pure rsync is not for you :)
here are some nice graphical alternatives:

- krsync: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Krsync?content=68586 (depends 
on rsync + kommander)
- unison: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison/ (gtk based)
