[kdepim-users] Is breaking "in-reply-to" possible?

Hi all,

A question: is it possible to break the in-reply-to header? Specifically, can
I reply to a message and force kmail not to set the in-reply-to (and similar)
email headers?

My motivation is, when a thread drifts off onto another topic, at some point
it becomes useful to change the thread's subject (with a "[WAS ...]" suffix
indicating the relationship to the previous thread). When doing this, it
would be nice if the new emails were not directly linked to the previous
ones --- at least, I think this would be nice.

Is this possible with KMail?

(I'm using Debian sid. KMail claims to be v1.9.9, and Debian package this as
4:3.5.9-2)

Cheers,

Paul.
