Easy. To subscribe to the kde-pim mailing list, please send an email to
kde-pim-request at kde.org. Type subscribe your-email-address in the subject of
the message. Please write your real email address instead of the
plain "your-email-address" words. You will get an email with a link that you
must use to confirm your subscription. This is to stop malicious people
using your account to subscribe.

Don't worry about that. That will be my digital signature. If you don't have
the tools loaded for handling digital signatures they will appear as an
attachment. They are totally harmless to you, and getting that working is
low priority for you.

First, when you make a new entry make sure that only the new category is
checked. It sounds as though you have 'other' checked every time as well as
the one you want to set. You can't define custom types of address. Office
would be 'work', vacation home would be 'home2'. 'Parents' doesn't sound a
likely type - how many parents addresses do you have? No, I would simply
make a record in the name of your parents and put the info in there. You can
use the search box to find things you have put into details. If your parents
have a vacation home, for instance, putting 'vacation' into the search box
would list only the entries that have a vacation entry.

It is designed to be international.

The punctuation requirements vary from country to country. With a little
experimentation you can usually persuade it to do what you want.

You would not put notes into custom fields, but into Details. As I said, it
is searchable.

I don't use that tab/page at all, so I'm only guessing, but I'd guess that it
refers to the fact that it can pick up information from korganizer, the diary
application. You are unlikely to need it.

I'm based in the UK, so that's not sensible. Besides, many people will help
you on the list, and they may be from anywhere in the world. Please
subscribe. Helping you will be much easier.

One other thing. On mailing lists it is considered bad form to top-post -
that is, to reply at the top of the message. It makes it difficult to follow
a thread or conversation. Please either intersperse comments, as I have done
here, or start your reply below the quoted part.

See you on the list
