[kdepim-users] utc time displayed on events imported from google calendar

Hi there,

I recently installed Mandriva 2009.0 PWP. I did not have the following problem
with Mandriva 2008.1, which probably is a kde 3 vs 4 issue, I am assuming. I
use google calendar a lot and let kontact / korganizer load it as a read-only
calendar. Since the recent install, some events listed in google calendar
shows up in UTC, some even in duplicates as UTC and ET, although the settings
in both korganizer and google calendar clearly indicate that they should
display in ET. If I define a new event using korganizer, it is only displayed
in ET, whereas the new events added through google calendar is shown in UTC.
Now, as far as the location on the calendar display is concerned, they are
mostly located at the right location, in ET; the exception to this rule is the
events that span through midnight in UTC. For example, if there is a party
starting at 4:00 PM and ending at 8:00 PM ET, it translates to 9:00 PM to
01:00 AM UTC, which causes a duplicate event showing up in calendar the very
next day at 4:00 to 8:00 PM ET. This is rather annoying. When knotify is
activated for the reminders, there is also no indication of ET, everything is
reported in UTC, which just doesn't make life easier.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hakan
