Well, that's certainly a possibility. I'll have to try to work out
exactly which folder is causing the problems, because the import
certainly doesn't appear to be in alphabetical order at the top level,
and the problem seems to come after the first sub-tree has been
imported.

OK, that's certainly worth a try, better than having to export the
Thunderbird e-mails then re-import them as plain mbx files, or worse
yet, after converting them to maildirs. 

I'll give it a whirl later today.
