[kdepim-users] Archives and problem sync'ing Zire (m150) under Fedora 9

I there an archive for this mailing list so I can check it to see if someone has already solved this problem?

The system doesn't see the Zire.

The ttyUSB devices are not created. Instead, devices usbdev2.N_ep[08][012] are created. The "..._ep80" device is not created, so there are 5, not 6, devices created.

I can't find the udev rule that creates the "_ep" devices, so I don't what triggers it.

The syntax in the FAQ seems incorrect:

KERNEL="ttyUSB*", << Shouldn't this read "KERNEL=="ttyUSB*", ?>>
                                                 ^
  NAME="%k",
  SYMLINK="pilot",
  GROUP="uucp",
  MODE="0666"

As I interpret this, whenever udev receives a KERNEL event with device ttyUSB*, it creates a symbolic link to /dev/pilot with group uucp and 0666 permissions.

I think I can figure out the proper substitution for "ttyUSB" (usbdev2.?_ep??), but this seems like a lot of trouble to sync a PDA. Am I barking up the wrong tree?

The pilot-link utilities accept a "-p usb:" syntax for USB connections. For example "pilot-dlpsh -i -p usb:" finds my PDA with no problem. Is there any way to enter something similar in the device field of the Kpilot Wizard ?

Thanks,

Coleman Blake
