            Bug ID: 510127
Summary: When the article list is overbroad, the key "Right
Arrow" scrolls it to the right, whereas it really
should just open the next article
    Classification: Applications
           Product: akregator
      Version First 6.4.3
       Reported In:
          Platform: NixOS
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: kdepim-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: david-schultz at gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
This annoyance is most prominent in view mode "Broad view" (Ctrl+Shift+2),
where the article list is in the rather narrow column in the middle.
Normally, "Arrow right" just opens the next article and does nothing else. This
is the expectable, useful thing for it to do. This is is what it does in View
Mode 1. It's even what it does in View Mode 2 if one has made the sub-columns
(by default "Title", "Author" and "Date") narrow enough to fit completely into
the middle column. However, when this is not the case, i.e. when the article
column can be scrolled sidewards, (as was e.g. the default with my 14 inch
display!), the behavior of "Arrow right" is an annoyance: It switches to the
next article **and** scrolls that column to the right, thereby moving the first
words of all list items (i.e. by default the titles) out of view.

This happens even when beforehand one has clicked on the *right* column, i.e.
the content column. However, I think normal behavior should be that it never
does that at all.

Oddly, "Arrow left" does not just do the reverse scroll (although it too can
lead to a left scroll under some circumstances, e.g. with overbroad columns in
view mode "Normal" (Ctrl+Shift+1)).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Activate view mode "Broad view" (Ctrl+Shift+2),
2. Ensure the columns in the article list column have a combined width that is
overbroad. Ensure multiple article items are in there, perhaps with one whose
title individually is overbroad.
3. Press Arrow right (or scroll a bit left and right and then press Arrow
left).
