Looking in the recent commits for *any* hint on this bug, I found this commit
of yours:

I understand it is supposed to be related to searches in _PimItem_ on sqlite,
but it was the closest change I could find to this situation where only 1000
collections are now "visible".
Maybe there's a similar situation somewhere else in the code, that is indeed
related to collections?
