Thank you for the bug report. There have been many improvements in KMail since
this report was updated, and it's possible this has been fixed.
I'm not able to reproduce this on Solus or KDE Neon, Plasma 6.1.1
KMail 6.1.1 (24.05.1)

I tested a variety of fonts for the Message Body, including these, which all
work:

"Monospace"
Deja Sans Mono
Droid Sans Mono
Fira Code
Inconsolata for Powerline
Liberation Mono for Powerline
Noto Sans Mono

Can we ask anyone who was affected to please check if this is still an issue
with the latest version of KMail?

If you can still reproduce the bug, please change the Status to "CONFIRMED".
