I got into contact with Daniel Vratil, who was the maintainer, but left a while
ago (he's still listed as assigned, but that's not true anymore). He gave me
the following answer, which I'm sharing here so everybody at least knows what's
going on:

>aah, the contacts thing. For the new contacts integration to work, the People API first needs to be implemented in the underlying library (libkgapi).
